Thread: wootalyzer stuck minimized

  1. #1
Running in WINE wootalyzer seems to work just fine; until you inadvertently minimize it. There is no coming back from this. If you double click on the task bar icon or click restore on it nothing happens. If you close and restart the program it restarts minimized. If you uninstall and reinstall it starts minimized. I have checked the registry and did not see any settings linked to wootalyzer but maybe I missed something. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could cause this?

Same problem here. It showed up after the last update. During the last Woot-Off and this one, the window stays minimized. I cannot find a way to open the window or make changes to the options.

The 'Lizer' loads at start-up and shows an icon in the Toolbars but its a no-go for access.

I am using a Toshiba Tecra laptop, Win XP service pack 3, if that helps.

@overlordchin: It looks like a linux version of Wootalyzer "may" become a possibility soon. The core library we are using for the OS X version of Wootalyzer cross-compiles with linux.

@yoda325: Do you use multiple monitors? It may be possible that the application is starting, and placing itself on a location outside of your current monitor configuration.

wootalyzer you hit the nail on the head. Somehow my laptop got set to multiple monitors. Once I reset it the Wootalizer came back!

Thanks a million...now back to waiting on a BOC

I have the same problem and as far as I can tell, my computer is not set up for multiple monitors. I did swap my fried LCD monitor out for my old crappy monster-sized monitor a while back (and haven't used Woot Watcher much lately), but I don't see any settings for anything but "default monitor" in Control Panel in XP.

Wootalyzer minimizes to the taskbar but I can't get it to pop up and display anything. It will show a window when a deal changes, but I can't adjust options or view the deals in between.

It stays minimized and will not open and will not let me change any options. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I am on a laptop and I don't have any dual display settings or anything. I need help too.

If all else fails, the best way to fix this problem is to start fresh. You can find and delete all your Wootalyzer settings at the following location:

    Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\wootalyzer
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\wootalyzer
